The Heart of The Heartland – Our Mission The Heart of the Heartland supports the awakening of public and individual consciousness, global evolution and healing, and contributes back to the community. The Heart of the Heartland – Our Focus • To plant seeds of hope in the soul of the individual, from which enduring peace and faith will grow. • To inspire and encourage hope and healing for the individual and the community by gathering to learn, to remember, and to deepen one’s faith. • With the hope to initiate creating and influencing our planets evolutionary path towards Oneness and Peace. Under our theme Hope, we have walked the path of spiritual contemplation, courageous conversation, and the act of faith, with beautiful and celebrated speakers such as Rita Klaus, Jackie Walker, Judith Schmidt, Carol Lee Flinders, Ocean Robbins, Carmen Harra, Julie Walker, and Judith Durek. We have invited presenters and teachers who are willing to broach sensitive topics, help us explore viable solutions, and, most of all, guide us in reclaiming our power as awake human beings. Please see our list of speakers for our 2007 list. We have the privilege to host these incredible speakers here in Chicago! They are all rare and inspiring examples of individuals whose positive commitment to life is expressed through their being and their work. They will share their work, their personal journeys and their inspirations that paved their paths. The Heart of the Heartland luncheon presentations We designed our luncheon presentations in response to the desire we sensed in communities everywhere to do more than just talk about current issues. Many of us want to share our inner lives in relation to what is happening in this country and abroad, and to gather resources both inside ourselves and in connection with others, so we can act with integrity, wisdom, and spirit toward real change in our world. One of the main missions of the Heartland Series is to help through donations to charitable organizations. We have previously donated to Seeds of Peace, YES! (Youth for Environmental Sanity), Chicago Foundation for Women and Sistuh Fund Giving Circle, The Ricky Martin Foundation, Cross-Cultural Solutions, and Educate These Children. A portion of the proceeds from each event goes to help support an organization in need that is in alignment with the speaker's mission. It is one small way that we as a collective can help give back, support and honor our responsibility and obligation to community. |
