Welcome! Heart of the Heartland is a speaker and luncheon series where people
come as a community. We invite presenters, teachers and authors -- all rare and
inspiring individuals -- whose positive commitment to life is expressed through
their being and their work out in the world.
These inspirational luncheons of learning and conversation are hosted at
Valley Lo Club in Glenview, a suburb north
of Chicago.
We hope that through our presenters sharing their stories and journeys, that you
will find hope and healing for whatever is your personal struggle and journey.
We hope that their words will resonate deep down inside, to those quiet parts of
the self -- helping to awaken and deepen your faith.
Telling your story
Stories give us hope, a little guidance and a lot of bravery. It is through sharing
our stories that we begin to heal. We hope that by participating in the
Heartland Series there will be an opening for your story. That it will assure
you, challenge you and challenge your faith. That there will be a tiny explosion
in your heart that will inspire you and encourage you to tap into a
previously-undiscovered inner resource, develop a newfound faith in your
power as a spiritual being, and be inspired to initiate some form of social action
